1000+ gathered at the 2020 Highland Games
British Chamber held its second Highland Games last Sunday, with over 1,000 people gathered at Dongfeng International Sports Park - hands down one of the biggest events in Beijing this summer!
Co-organised by the British Chamber, Scottish Government, Scottish Development International (SDI) as well as the Beijing Scottish Society, Highland Games 2020 added a special feature - we built a Scottish Pavilion showcasing culture, F&B and top universities in Scotland.
It was a full day of sports activities for everyone! Trainyard Gym brought their equipment outdoor, along with Yoga, Zumba dance sessions and of course, the highland games competitions.
Not to mention the Ceilidh Dances led by the Beijing Scottish Society! Many thanks to instructors Wei and Oliver for leading the ceilidh dance sessions in the afternoon, which were welcomed by people of all ages to particpate!
This year's kids games had double the participants of last year's! Organised by AustCham China, children were competing seriously in the egg and spoon and sack races!
We were delighted to invite Bladnoch, a whisky brand of over 200 years old, to host special whisky tasting in the afternoon.
As a Highland Games tradition, the day ended with fierce games of tug o'war! 16 teams of 4 competed head to head. Congratulations to the winning team! They were each given 1-month free membership at Trainyard Gym (worth RMB 2,588)!
We would like to pay appreciation to everyone who came to join the Highland Games fun, all the 30+ vendors as well as sponsors for making the event another success for the British Chamber!
